On Monday, May 3, 2021 – Red Monday – the AAPI community and our allies will make a statement by participating in a nationwide consumer walkout. By withholding our patronage, we will make ourselves heard.

Why a consumer walkout?

Asian American consumer spending boosts the US economy. Our financial withdrawal is a message that cannot be missed.

How will it work?

We will spend absolutely NO money on Red Monday. This will require the support of many people to be effective. Our strength lies in our collective absence.

Why this form of protest?

This is an all-inclusive means of peacefully protesting the anti-Asian racism that exists in this country. Let our united silence be our deafening roar.

Will this hurt Asian businesses?

No, it is only a ONE-day spending pause, designed to draw everyone’s attention to our role in the US economy. This small short-term sacrifice will result in overall greater  long-term gains.
